Privacy policy
Last updated: 19 October 2026
The Capodoku app (“the app”) is published by Tomikz (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what data the app processes, and why. In short: no account, no name, no email; your progress stays on your phone; ads are served by Google (full-screen without a badge, optional videos), with the choices the law gives you.
In short
- No account to create: no name, no email address asked.
- Your progress is stored only on your phone.
- Ads are served by Google AdMob, never during a case; a badge removes the full-screen ads.
- Before any personalized ad, the app asks for your consent. Saying no changes nothing in the game.
- No analytics or audience measurement on our side.
- Three third parties are involved: Apple (payments), RevenueCat (purchases) and Google (ads).
Data stored on your phone
The app saves the following on your device, and only there: solved cases, your stars, times and opened star chests, your daily streak, your remaining hints (including bought hints), the videos watched today, the ad pacing and your settings (language, theme, crosses on placement, vibrations, daily reminder).
This data is never sent to us and we have no access to it. Deleting the app erases it. It may be included in your iPhone backups depending on your own iCloud settings, which we cannot see.
Purchases: RevenueCat
To manage badges, case files and hint packs, the app uses RevenueCat, Inc., an in-app purchase provider. RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier generated by the app, with no link to your identity, your purchase history provided by Apple (badges, case files and hint packs bought, with their dates) and the technical information it needs to work (device model and OS version, app version, App Store country, connection IP address). This is used only to validate your purchases, know which badges and case files you own and restore them on a new device.
RevenueCat does not receive your name, your email address or your payment details. RevenueCat's processing of this data is described in its privacy policy.
Ads: Google AdMob
The app shows ads served by Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited in Europe, Google LLC elsewhere): if you do not have a badge, now and then a full-screen ad when you leave the end screen of a case; and, for everyone, videos you choose to watch to earn hints. There is never an ad during a case, and never a banner. Ads are set to exclude adult-only content.
To select and show these ads, Google may receive: device identifiers (including Apple's advertising identifier, only if you allow it), your IP address and the approximate location derived from it (country, city), technical information (model, OS, language, app version) and your interactions with ads (views, taps). We never send Google your progress or any information that directly identifies you.
Your choices. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, a consent form provided by Google is shown before any personalized ad; you can change your choice at any time in the app settings, under “Ad choices”. The app also asks for Apple's tracking permission: if you decline, the advertising identifier is not shared and ads are not personalized based on your activity in other apps. You can change this in iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. These requests only appear after your first solved case, or earlier if you choose to watch a video to earn hints.
Google's processing of this data is described in its privacy policy and on the page How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Diagnostics and retention
To run and measure ads, Google's kit may also send diagnostic data (crash reports from the ad module, loading times and other performance measurements). We use no diagnostic or analytics tool of our own.
Retention. Game data stays on your phone until you delete the app. RevenueCat keeps purchase history as long as the service needs it (validating and restoring purchases), under its policy. Google keeps advertising data under its own rules, described in its privacy policy and its data retention page.
Our providers (Apple, RevenueCat, Google) are bound, by their terms and public policies, to provide a level of data protection at least equal to the one described in this policy.
Payments: Apple
All purchases go through the App Store, with your Apple Account. Payment is processed by Apple, under its privacy policy. We never receive your payment details, your name or your email address.
Notifications
The daily reminder is a local notification, scheduled by your phone itself, with no server. It is only turned on if you accept it, and you can turn it off at any time in the app settings or in iPhone Settings. It never contains advertising.
What we do not do
- No ads during a case, no banners, and no full-screen ads at all with a badge.
- No analytics or audience measurement on our side.
- No access to your precise location, contacts or photos.
- We do not sell any data.
Children
The app is not specifically aimed at children and asks them for no personal data. Ads are set to exclude adult-only content.
Your rights
We hold no personal data ourselves: there is nothing for us to send you or delete on our side. Game data is deleted with the app. For ads, you can change your consent in the app (“Ad choices”) or decline tracking in iPhone Settings, and exercise your rights with Google. For any question, including about the anonymous identifier managed by RevenueCat, email us at paul.nadin.pro@gmail.com: we will help you exercise your rights (access, erasure, objection). You can also contact the data protection authority of your country.
This website
This website uses no cookies and no audience measurement. Your light or dark theme choice is remembered in your browser (local storage) and is not sent to us. The site is hosted by Vercel Inc., which processes technical logs (such as IP addresses) to run the service, under its privacy policy.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
